Just a Reminder:
Please call the main office phone number for any type of service call for your unit during the regular business hours (8am-4pm). It is our policy and a reporting requirement that a work order be created before any work can be started on a unit. We create a work order for any service calls that are made, no matter how big or small the issue is.
For all after hours emergency calls, please call the on-call maintenance worker’s phone number. Thank you for your cooperation.

We are accepting applications for The Tribal Member Rental Assistance program, which supports low-income Kickapoo Tribe in Kansas members living externally of the Kickapoo Tribe in Kansas Reservation boundaries. Assistance is provided via a rental stipend, intended to assist with housing costs. Assistance can be provided at a rate of 150/month; maximum six months. Program stipends awarded are mailed directly to your landlord.
We have several openings for the Kickapoo Tribal member college rental assistance program, which will assist you for six months, up to $200.00 per month. Checks are mailed directly to your landlord. You can re-apply and receive an additional six months for a total of twelve months of assistance with the college assistance.

Those of you that have already qualified for the first round of Emergency Rental and Utility Assistance, it is time to complete the renewal application for the second round of assistance. Today Kickapoo Housing Authority celebrated one of it own. Eldon Darnell Jr. has been employed for 28 years! Way to go Eldon! He was given a plaque and cake. Eldon said he was about ready to retire, but decided to keep on working.

Kickapoo Housing Authority is please to announce that we have reached a milestone of processing and funding of over 100 application/ households! We continue to reach out to Kickapoo Tribal Members through out the United States to assist them with our ERA Program. If you know of a Kickapoo Tribal Member that might need assistance with rent or utilities, please let them know we are here to help them in there time of need. We just updated our application. Currently we will pay three months of rent/ utilities (heating, cooling, water & trash, & internet) for qualified applicants.

Kickapoo Housing Authority now has two new above ground Storm Shelters for our communities safety during severe high wind thunder storms and the threat of tornadoes. The storm shelter are located in sites with units that do not have basements. The Tornado Shelters are rated to meet FEMA's specifications found in FEMA 361, FEMA 320 and NSSA (National Storm Shelter Association) 500 2008.

Completion of rehab on 17 elder units and installation of a storm shelter has been completed along with most of the rehad on the Senior Community Building on time and budget! We are pleased to note that all the units are 100% occupied including all the set aside units.
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic we have not been able to have any kind of celebration for this project.
We are fortunate to have dedicated staff at KHA, Board of Commissioners, and Tribal Council officials who care for our community. We also like to thank KHRC and Travois for all their hard work!
